When we develop a test or test type we must take into account a number of aspects that will help us design it in the most effective way possible:
- It is important that before preparing the questions or statements type test we know what we want to evaluate. We must link the questions to the learning objectives of the course schedule. That is, the questions must answer and be related to what has been working. In the case of surveys, the questions we ask should give us the information we want to obtain.
-
. When we elaborate a statement we can create two response options: that the examinee selects a response among several options or that he selects multiple answers among several options. The answers can be done in text format or through images / graphics.
- We must write the statements clearly and with vocabulary known by the people under evaluation.
- It is recommended that there is not an excessive amount of text in the statement.
- The statements can be written in different ways: in the form of a question, in the form of completing the sentence, true / false or choosing the best answer.
- When preparing the questions we should avoid that they give answers to other questions.
- When in the answers we use the words "always", "never", "all the previous ones", "none of the previous ones" we are giving clues so that the examinee decides on one answer or another.
- It is important to take into account the number of questions we ask with the time that the examinee has to answer.
- Try to avoid deceptive or cheating questions based on opinions.
- Take ideas from old test, but always try to find new and original questions for the test you are creating.
